Flu-vaccine clinics are planned the week of Dec. 12 at both branches of the Fairfield Public Library, sponsored by the Fairfield Health Department.

On Monday, Dec. 12, vaccine will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fairfield Woods branch, 1147 Fairfield Woods Road.

On Thursday, Dec. 14, vaccine will be available from 3 to 5 p.m. at the main library, 1080 Old Post Road.

The cost is $25, and anyone age 6 months or older is eligible.

The clinics will offer both a nasal-spray vaccine suitable for people age 2 to 48 and a conventional injection for all others, the health department said. Pregnant women will require notes from their doctors stating that they may receive flu vaccine.

Insurance coverage that will be accepted include Medicare Part B, Aetna, ConnectiCare and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

Otherwise payment must be in cash (exact change only) or by check payable to: Town of Fairfield. Receipts will be available for people who wish to submit them to insurers for reimbursement, the department said.
