The Fairfield Senior Center was a hub of activity on a warm autumn day as residents lined up Thursday for flu inoculations administered by nurses from the Fairfield Health Department.

The flu vaccine clinic was in its second day in the gymnasium at the center, which town Health Director Sands Cleary said proved to be one of the largest organized by the agency. Other flu shot opportunities are offered throughout the season, which he indicated typically spans from Oct. 1 through Jan. 30.

Among the visitors to the clinic was 105-year-old Fairfield resident Lenora Cox.
