Former Fairfield man dies in hang-gliding accident
A hang-gliding enthusiast with ties to Fairfield was killed Sunday when his glider crashed into a mountainside near state Route 52 in Wawarsing, N.Y.
Scott Trueblood, 44, of Shelton and a previous Fairfield resident, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash about 6 p.m. Sunday, according to New York State Police.
Trueblood was a newly licensed pilot with the Ellenville Flight School.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
The New York State Police was assisted by Ellenville Police Department, Ellenville Fire Department, Ellenville EMS and Cragsmoore EMS.
