The Fairfield Senior Center will offer free cardiovascular screenings to any Connecticut resident who is at least 50 years old 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at the center, 100 Mona Terrace.

The program, held in collaboration with the Fairfield University Health Promotion Center, will give tests for total cholesterol, HDL (good cholesterol), blood glucose and blood pressure.

The Promotion Center is a Bridgeport-based community nursing center that provides health education, screening and referrals.

To register, call 203-256-3166. Walk-ins are welcome, but people who have registered will be tested first.

Fairfield residents who are at least 60 years old or disabled and in need of transportation can call 203-256-3168 and request a round-trip ride at a cost of 50 cents.
