Gold, silver bars, guns stolen in $200K home burglary
Possessions valued at more that $200,000 -- including about $100,000 in gold and silver bars -- as well as several firearms were reported stolen from a Jackman Avenue home last week.
The break-in was reported to police last Friday.
White powder found on the floor of the home was later determined by firefighters to be discharge from a fire extinguisher.
A safe containing the gold and silver bars was missing from the master bedroom, according to the report, while the firearms were taken from a gun safe in another bedroom.
Several paintings were also taken from the walls, and police were told that assorted jewelry and silverware also is missing.
A neighbor reported previously seeing a pickup truck in the driveway that she thought belonged to a handyman.
The incident is under investigation.
