Good cheer -- and good cause -- on tap at Craft 260's Brewfest
Wind gusts of up to 40 miles an hour and scattered power outages Sunday didn't stop local beer lovers from tapping into Craft 260 Beer Bar/Bistro's Brewfest, a benefit held in the restaurant's parking lot.
Eleven Connecticut-based brewers participated in the event. Tickets were $15 a pop, 100 percent of which benefited Community Plates, a non-profit organization that strives to end hunger in Fairfield County.
Visitors strolled from vendor to vendor, sampling beer brands along with chunky, sweet chili that Craft 260 co-owner and chef Vinny Mascaro prepared for the occasion. Providing a musical backdrop, the Tony Ferrigno Band played classic rock and blues.
Also featured during the event was a raffle of cards, hats and tee-shirts.
