A parent consultant will discuss the role of grandparents in family dynamics during a program on Sunday, Dec. 11, at the Fairfield Public Library's main branch.

The free talk by clinical social worker Annie Abram is planned from 2 to 3 p.m. at the 1080 Old Post Road branch.

Abram will discuss how grandparents' role has changed through the years; why grandparents should be comfortable in this stage of life; how a grandparent can improve family dynamics, and how significant grandparents are to children, the library said.

The program also will cover common child-rearing tensions inherent in relationships with adult children and with daughters-in-law and sons-in-law.

Abram is licensed clinical social worker and psychoanalyst with a private practice in Norwalk, the library said.

She has worked for 25 years in research, education and clinical practice providing help to parents and families.

Abram hosts a weekly show on Blog Talk Radio about parents.
