Guitarist Jordan Dodson will be the featured performer in a March 7 concert at the Pequot Library.

The concert, sponsored by Music for Youth, will take place at 2 p.m. in the library, 720 Pequot Ave.

A winner of Astral Artists' 2013 National Auditions, Dodson is a soloist and chamber musician called "one of the top young guitarists of his generation" by Performance Today, according to publicity for the event. The native of Columbus, Ohio, was an award winner in the 2011 Lillian Fuchs Chamber Music Competition, the 2010 Indiana international Guitar Competition and the 2008 American String Teachers Association Competition.

Dodson holds a Bachelor of music degree from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and a master's degree from the Manhattan School of Music.

Admission to the concert is free for those accompanied by a child. Others are asked to contribute $20 to help support the Music for Youth concert series.
