Ghosts and goblins, princesses and super heroes will all descend on downtown Friday for the annual “Trick or Treat on Safety Street” celebration of Halloween.

The event, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Fairfield, will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. in the downtown area along the Post Road. The area extends along the Post Road from the First Niagara Bank office, at Thorpe Street across from Mill Plain Road, east to the Pink Cupcake Shack at the Brick Walk complex.

Elementary school youngsters are welcome to visit participating merchants displaying and orange Trick-or-Treat on Safety Street poster in their windows for holiday treats.

Additional activities are planned on Sherman Green, including music and more treats. Members of the Kiwanis-sponsored high school Key Clubs will pass out balloons and take orders for their annual holiday poinsettia sale.
