Homeowner holds break-in suspect at gunpoint
A Norwalk man was charged with breach of peace after he was found on the porch of a Westport Turnpike home around 5 a.m. Sunday.
Police said the homeowner heard a noise on his front porch and found Tyler J. Cox, 18, of West Rocks Road, apparently trying to get into the house. The homeowner held Cox at gunpoint until police arrived.
Cox, whose car was found parked about a half-mile away in Westport, at first refused to answer questions about why he was there, but later told police he had come from a party in Weston where he had been drinking.
He was released on a promise to appear June 21 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
