The inauguration ceremony for the candidates elected in last week's municipal election will take place Monday in Fairfield Warde High School.

The event starts at 7 p.m. in the Warde auditorium, 755 Melville Ave.

Those take an oath of office will be the winners of seats on town boards and commissions, including the Board of Finance, Board of Education, Town Plan and Zoning Commission, Board of Assessment Appeals, Representative Town Meeting, Zoning Board of Appeals and constable, will take their oath of office.

The oath will be issued by Town Clerk Betsy Browne, and the program will feature Fairfield's Police and Fire Honor Guard, and local scouts will lead the Pledge of Allegiance.

First Selectman Michael Tetreau will serve as master of ceremonies. "The Fairfield community is invited to attend this special ceremony and be part of town history," he said in announcing the ceremony. "Fairfield is very fortunate to have so many residents volunteer their time to serve our community."
