James F. DeSantie, 66, of Fairfield, husband of Suzanne (Sabia) DeSantie, died Aug. 3, 2010, at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport.

The son of the late Fiore and Julia DeSantie, he was a lifelong Fairfield resident. He attended Andrew Warde High School and later served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1962-1966.

DeSantie worked many years in the HVAC industry before retiring. He was a member of the St. Ann's Club of Norwalk. He was a golfer, and enjoyed sharing a new joke with family and friends.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his children, Carol DeSantie and Martin Kald of Long Island, N.Y., and James M. DeSantie and his wife Kathy of LaGrangeville, Ind.; his grandchildren, Erik Kald, Dyllan DeSantie, Zack and Susan Matasci; a sister, Patricia Moisio and her husband Larry of Redding; his father-in-law, Leonard Sabia of Fairfield; a sister-in-law, Charlene Lebo of Fairfield; two brothers-in-law, Leonard Sabia and his wife Lisa of Fairfield and Keith Sabia and his wife Patricia of Phoenix, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his first wife, Mary DeSantie; a sister and brother-in-law, Flo and John Fox, and a brother-in-law, Keith Lebo.

Calling hours will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road. A Mass of Christian Burial is set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Church, 700 Old Stratfield Road. Burial with military honors will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery.
