JOHN J. HADUK
Born and raised in the Bronx, N.Y., a World War II veteran, Haduk served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific Theatre and participated in the invasion of Japan. He later married and moved to Fairfield 40 years ago.
He worked for the Sterling Drug Co. for many years and later became a Eucharistic minister of St. Pius X Church of Fairfield.
In addition to his wife of 49 years, Ann, he is survived by his daughters, Theresa Hartley of Newtown, Elizabeth Harrington and her husband, William of Maryland, Helena Kokorda and her husband, Andrew of Monroe, and Joan Hunter and her husband, James of Darien; and his grandchildren, Christopher and Thomas Hartley, Patrick, Michael and Meghan Harrington, Ann and Margaret Kokorda and James, Charles and Catherine Hunter.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield, and at 11 at St. Pius X Church on Brookside Drive, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated; interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Fairfield ,with full military honors. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
