The Junior Women's Club will hold its annual summer event to provide prospective members with an overview of the organization's service projects, fundraisers and social activities on Wednesday, Aug. 17. The event will be held 7 p.m. at a member's home.

Women ages 18 and older from Fairfield and the surrounding towns, are welcome to attend the event and join the club. In addition to drinks and an informal dinner, current club members will speak about their experiences and projects with the club.

Executive board members will provide a brief description of the club's upcoming events, including Touch-a-Truck on Sept. 18 and A Visit to Santa's House, Dec. 10 to 11, and explain its new charitable partnership with Thomas Merton House in Bridgeport.

The event is free of charge, but guests may bring arts and crafts supplies to give to the Thomas Merton Family Center.
