James H. Pinson-Rose, 31, of Fairfield, died March 24.

Born in Washington, D.C., he was a graduate of the Hopkins School, Class of 1998. At the school, he played football and was named as an All-New Haven County football player in 1997. He was also a wrestler and the state private school wrestling champion in 1998 and the No. 2- ranked wrestler in New England. He was a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University, Class of 2005.

He had been the owner of Lucy's Kitchen on Black Rock Turnpike.

Survivors include his parents, Dr. Daniel Rose and Ellen M. Pinson of Fairfield; a sister, Ellen M. Ackerman and her husband, Michael, of Verdi, Nev.; two brothers, Charles B. Pinson-Rose of New York City and William K. Pinson-Rose of Los Angeles, Calif., and his partner, Divita Mehta.

A celebration of his life will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 26, at the Shaughnessey-Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road. Calling hours are from 10 a.m. until the service in the funeral home.
