Julie Kaczegowicz Vena

Julie Kaczegowicz Vena, 90, of Fairfield, the wife of the late Joseph Vena, died Dec. 18, 2010, at home.
Born in the Southport section of Fairfield, she was a life-long resident of the town. She had been a foreman with the Jelliff Corp. for more than 44 years. Her family was her primary focus, and she also enjoyed yard work, flower design and landscaping, as well as different types of crafting.
Survivors include nieces and nephews, Dianne Megenis of Westport, Robert Megenis and his wife, Lorraine, of Trumbull, James Megenis of Stratford, Barbara Okarmus of Southport, Patricia Sotomayor and her husband, Fred, of Fairfield, Mary Ellen Sweeney and her husband, Peter, of Oxford, David Kaczegowicz of Bridgeport, Walter Kaczegowicz of Florida, Susan Howard of Milford, Laurie Musante and her husband, Fred of Massachusetts, George Kaczegowicz and his wife, Nanci, of Easton, Michael and his wife, Diane, of Fairfield, Allen Kaczegowicz and his wife, Angela, of Trumbull, Bonnie Kaczegowicz of Fairfield and Daniel Kaczegowicz and his wife, Ingrid, of Trumbull. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by six borthers and sisters, Stanley, Helen, Gladys, Theodore, Walter and Jean.
Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church on South Pine Creek Road. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday, from 3 to 7 p.m., in the funeral home.
