Julius Dobler, 95, of Fairfield and Pompano Beach, Fla., husband of the late Julia Arsenault Hofman Dobler on July 21.

Born March 27, 1916, in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Frank and Josephine Drabik Dobler. He was a Fairfield resident for most of his life and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

In his youth, he had worked on farms and then for the Norwalk Hat Factory. He later operated a gas station and became proprietor of the General Auto Radiator Co. in Bridgeport until his retirement. He was a 60-year member of the Masonic Order Fidelity Lodge 134 of Fairfield, the Pyramid Shriners and the Hungarian Club of Lake Worth, Fla.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Hofman Zilinyi and son-in-law, Frank Zilinyi; a grandson, Frank Zilinyi Jr., his wife, Cheryl Fenner Zilinyi and their three sons, Frank, Robert and Matthew; a granddaughter, Bonnie Zilinyi Baker, her husband, Glenn Baker, and their sons Kenneth and Christopher and daughter Katherine; a sister, Josephine Lasko, her husband, Robert, and their daughters Lori Lasko and Bonnie Lasko Sandor, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Frank and Louis Dobler and sisters Mary Bidie and Helen Sabo.

Funeral services took place Monday. Burial with military honors was in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
