The Kiwanis Club of Fairfield recently donated about 6,000 books during its sixth annual children's book drive for Connecticut Read to Grow.
So far, Kiwanis has donated more than 40,000 books to Read to Grow with help from public and private schools, preschools and town libraries, according to a club news release. The books are given to families in Connecticut when their child is born and at different intervals while growing up.
Read to Grow distributed 130,000 books in 2011, the release states.
