Letter: Coyner has skills and experience

I am writing you to tell you why I am supporting Kevin Coyner in the Aug. 14 Democratic primary for state representative in the 132nd district. Kevin has the perfect combination of skills: legislative experience, real-world business experience and hands-on experience in public service.
When he was a graduate student at George Washington University, earning his MBA in international business, Kevin worked as a legislative assistant in the U.S. Senate. He was responsible for writing legislation, following it through Congress and reporting to the senator.
Kevin's business experience is extensive. He has worked in finance as a bond and options trader, which has taken him to places around the world, giving him a broad understanding of economic issues.
Finally, Kevin is no stranger to public service. After a long career in finance, he decided to make a significant career change. Starting as a volunteer, Kevin decided to make firefighting his new career. In this new role as a professional firefighter, Kevin puts his life on the line for the public.
This combination of skills is the right background for serving the people of the 132nd District in Hartford. That is why I hope you will join me and vote for Kevin Coyner in the Aug. 14 primary.
