Stop blaming the RTM , which stood their ground and demanded the town do something about constant spending. RTM members did not want to cut spending but to stop the increases the town seeks every year.

We all live on a budget. If we don't have enough money, we make do with what we have. Many towns are getting the message. Gov. Christie of New Jersey said new civilian workers must work until age 65 and for 30 years to get early retirement. All workers must pay more for their pensions and health care. Pensions no longer automatically rise with inflation but only when the state or town can afford such increases. Come on Fairfield, you can do it. Listen to the people!
