Millions of families in this country are struggling to makes ends meet and put food on their tables. On May 12, the National Association of Letter Carriers sponsored the largest one-day food drive in the nation. Fairfield's Local 2313 worked tirelessly and collected thousands of pounds of food to benefit the Operation Hope Food Pantry.

Thank you to Local 2313 for its commitment to alleviating hunger and helping the poor in the community.

Thank you to the many volunteers who unloaded and sorted the food from the 60-plus routes.

Thank you to the Fairfield Theatre Company for the use of its garage and Big Little Sanitation for the beautiful green Dumpster.

Pantries are under tremendous pressure because demand is great. The only way to provide the needed food is with help from the community, so last but not least, thank you people of Fairfield for donating it so generously.
