The Fairfield Public Library will offer an overview and demonstration of, one of the nation's fastest-growing social media sites, on Wednesday, Sept. 12, at noon.

The session will take place in the Rotary Room of the main library at 1080 Old Post Road.

Pinterest is a virtual pin-board style photo-sharing site that allows users to create and manage image collections, the library said. Popular categories are travel, cars, crafts, film, humor, home design, sports, fashion and art.

Users can browse other pin boards for inspiration, "re-pin" images to their own collections or "like" photos.

The library's program will be conducted by Merry Uk, webmaster for both the library's and town of Fairfield's websites.

The program is free, but advance registration is required because space is limited.
