Police are investigating a burglary at a service station on Commerce Drive that may be related to a similar breakin in Westport.
The owner of Bennett's Service Station, 550 Commerce Drive, called police early Thursday to report that a window had been smashed, and stolen were 15 cases of cigarettes, worth $75 each, a change bin with about $30, eight boxes of cigars worth $100 and an unknown amount of Red Bull and soda.
In addition, seven cars in the station's parking lot were broken into.
Earlier that morning, Westport police were investigating a burglary at a Post Road gas station near the Fairfield town line where a gray container filled with cigarettes was taken.
Later Thursday, Fairfield police also received a report of an attempted burglary at the Citgo station at Black Rock Turnpike and Samp Mortar Drive. Surveillance video from the Citgo station is being reviewed by police, who are also investigating whether there is a link between the three incidents.
