Louis Azinaro, 79, of Fairfield, the husband of Ronda Vlajic Azinaro, died Sept. 12, 2010.

Born in the Bronx, N.Y., Mr. Azinaro had lived there for most of his life before moving to Fairfield five years ago. He was a Veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army.

He had worked for the New York Transit Authority for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed watching classic black-and-white movies, as well as baking desserts, and rooting for the New York Yankees.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, John Azinaro of Norwalk; a daughter, Susan Majewski and her husband Alexander of Fairfield, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Frances Avery and Theresa Califano.

Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, and at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 700 Old Stratfield Road. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. To sign an online register, visit www.LeskoPolkefuneralhome.com.
