Several appliances were reported stolen from a Nichols Street home sometime in the last two months.

The home's owner came to police headquarters last Wednesday to report the theft of a refrigerator, oven, microwave oven and dishwasher.

The home is a rental property, and was purchased in September in a bank auction, police were told. The closing took place Nov. 19. When the new owner conducted a walk-through on the sale closing date, the appliances -- valued at $3,000 -- were on the premises.

The new owner also told police he is in the process of evicting the home's former owner and a son, who are living illegal units on the property, according to the report.
