FAIRFIELD — Nilson Rodriguez, 57, was arrested on a warrant Monday, charged with violating a restraining order.

According to police, Rodriguez, of Anson Street in Bridgeport, had been harassing a Fairfield woman, who received a civil protective order against him last December. He was to have no contact with the woman.

Police said Rodriguez and the woman became friends about two years ago, having met through a photography job. However, she claimed he began to stalk her, insisting that she owed him money.

On June 14 of this year, Rodriguez called her and again said she owed him money and he knew where she lived. While an officer was talking to the woman, Rodriguez called again but hung up before the officer could speak to him.

He was held on a $10,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Bridgeport Monday.
