FAIRFIELD — A hit-and-run accident Tuesday morning on Brooklawn Avenue led to the arrest of Andrew R. Raymond, 29, of Exeter Street, Bridgeport.
According to police, Raymond was driving north on Brooklawn when he drove off the road and hit a parked, unoccupied car. He then backed up and fled the scene, according to the report, but police were able to trace the incident to Raymond through the car’s registration plate.
Raymond was located by Trumbull police outside the Westfield Trumbull mall and taken into custody. He allegedly admitted to the accident, and said he got scared and left the scene. He was driving with a suspended license.
Police charged Raymond with operating under suspension, evading responsibility and failure to drive in the proper lane.
He was released after posting a $100 bond and is scheduled to appear April 19 at state Superior Court in Bridgeport.
