Frank Julian, 49, of Jackson Avenue, Stratford, was charged on a warrant Tuesday with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault stemming from a domestic dispute

Julian went to the Greenlawn Drive home of his ex-wife on Dec. 4, and allegedly began punching a male friend of hers, who was sitting on the couch. According to the report, the friend's face was bruised and cut. Julian left before officers arrived and several attempts to contact him on his cell phone were unsuccessful, according to the report.

When police were finally able to talk to Julian, he told them that his former wife and the friend had attacked him, but he had no injuries and did not report the incident to police. Julian had no "reasonable" explanation for why he didn't report the incident or return their calls, police said. Police also said there were no signs of injuries on the victim's hands to suggest he had attacked Julian.

Julian was released on a $5,000 bond and was scheduled to have appeared Wednesday in Bridgeport Superior Court.
