Man charged with shoplifting toy part
Louis had purchased a toy helicopter from the store the day before, but broke one of the blades, according to the report. He returned to the store to get a replacement and was told it would have to be ordered. But Louis later was seen on surveillance video taking a new helicopter out of a box, taking one of the blades and replacing on the opposite shelf, police said. He went to the register to pay for another item he had, but not the rotor blade, and left the store, according to the report.
He had his son with him at the time, according to police.
Police contacted Louis and he turned himself in at police headquarters at 1 a.m. Thursday morning. He was released on a promise to appear April 9 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
