A 62-year-old man was arrested Thursday at the Fairfield Metro Railroad Station after three women waiting for a train told police he was masturbating in a stairwell at the depot.
Thomas Wilkes, of East Main Street in Meriden, was charged with disorderly conduct.
Police said the three women, who called around 10:30 a.m. to report the incident, said they couldn't stay and give statements about the alleged conduct because they would miss their train.
There was, however, evidence that Wilkes had urinated in the stairwell, police said, prompting the disorderly charge. Wilkes was found by officers in a nearby shopping center parking lot.
He was released on a promise to appear May 19 at state Superior Court in Bridgeport.
