George Kelly, 57, of Euclid Avenue, faces charges after police said he failed to turn in a gun following a previous arrest for domestic violence.

Police were making a follow up visit Dec. 20 to the home after an altercation there on Dec. 5, and officers said they found a .44 revolver. Kelly was charged with criminal possession of firearm, as well as with two counts of violation of a protective order, when police said he was within 100 feet of the house, violating an earlier protective order.

He was taken into custody by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and Fairfield police, and held on a $25,000 bond. Kelly was scheduled to have appeared last Friday in Bridgeport Superior Court.
