FAIRFIELD — A man found slumped over the wheel of his BMW Saturday night is facing drug charges.

Police got a call around 8 p.m. about a man slumped over the steering wheel of a car parked in the Senor Salsa lot. When the officer arrived, he was able to wake up Arthur Connelly, 22. Connelly said he fell asleep while trying to get something to eat, and allegedly admitted to having smoked some marijuana. In the car, and on Connelly’s person, police found some wax folds of heroin, some marijuana, and a marijuana grinder.

Connelly, who lives in Huntington, N.Y., was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released after posting a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Bridgeport on Sept. 19.
