Martin T. Galla, 87, of Fairfield, the husband of Frances Miklus Galla, died Sept. 1, 2010, at home.

A retired toolmaker for Liberty Tool Co., he served in the U.S. Army's 717th Tank Battalion during World War II.

In addition to his wife of 58 years, he is survived by his children, Elizabeth Pultz of Shelton; Thomas Galla of Cottonwood, Ariz.; James Galla of Fairfield; Lawrence Galla and his wife, Eileen, of Fairfield, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Anna Norko Galla; four brothers, John, William, George and Joseph Galla, and three sisters, Anna Magera, Mary Rusnak and Teresa Franko.
