Connecticut Valley Homes, a custom modular home building and design firm based in East Lyme, is opening an office in Fairfield.

The business plans a grand opening Saturday, from noon to 5 p.m., in the local office at 1949 Post Road. First Selectman Michael Tetreau is expected to attend the opening; light snacks and drinks will be available for visitors.

The Fairfield office will be a satellite of the East Lyme headquarters of the business. "We have always had strong interest in this part of the state for our services, but East Lyme was farther than some people wanted to travel to do business," Richard Wildermuth, the president of Connecticut Valley Homes, said in a press release.

"The opening of this office, combined with the expertise of Fairfield building consultant Dave Cooper, will allow clients to have a beautiful and convenient place to plan their new home. Dave has been designing and building modular homes for over a decade, and will have the full support of our extensive East Lyme services," he said.

Connecticut Valley Homes has built more than 1,500 custom-designed modular homes and commercial projects since its founding in 1981.
