A Sandy Hook man was treated for rib injuries Tuesday evening after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into the side of a pickup truck on Congress Street at the Merritt Parkway exit.

Jonathan Reasoner, 49, was riding east on Congress Street just before 6 p.m. when he went through the stop sign by the exit ramp and ran into the side of a pickup truck leaving the parkway, according to the exit report obtained by the Fairfield Citizen.

A witness driving behind Reasoner told police he did not see the motorcyclist brake for the stop sign, and police found no skid marks on the road.

Reasoner was taken to St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport for treatment, and issued an infraction for a stop sign violation and an expired vehicle registration.

The driver of the truck, Briane Gilbane, 24, of Nepas Road, was issued a misdemeanor summons for operating under suspension, and was released at the scene.
