A motorcyclist suffered what police called "life-threatening" injuries in a collision with a car Friday night at Post and Beach roads.

The crash, about 8:30 p.m. Friday, involved a Victory Highball motorcycle driven by Walter Mebane IV, 26, of Stamford and a Ford Escape SUV driven by Marie Staley, 33, of Monroe, according to the report.

The collision took place as Staley, traveling west on the Post Road, was trying to turn onto Beach Road and hit Mebane's motorcycle, traveling east on the Post Road, police said.

Mebane was transported to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment of the life-threatening injuries, police said.
