Sizzling New Orleans-style brass will be heard downtown Aug. 1 when Bonerama performs at the Fairfield Theatre Co., 70 Sanford St.
The show gets underway at 7:30 p.m.
Bonerama mixes funk and jazz-flavored tunes with classic-rock covers, including Edgar Winter's "Frankenstein," Black Sabbath's "War Pigs," Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and the Allman Brothers Band. Also in the band's mix are jazz, gospel, blues and a touch of reggae.
The band is touring in support of its latest release. "Shake It Baby," released last April. It is the band's sixth release in its 15-year career and includes nine original songs written by the band's co-founders Mark Mullins and Craig Klein. Artists appearing on the album include legends of New Orleans including Dr. John, Mike Mills of R.E.M., George Porter Jr. of Meters, Dave Malone of Radiators and Mike Dillon of Les Claypool.
