New dog licenses needed by July 1
Updated 11:26 am, Tuesday, June 4, 2013
Fairfield dog owners are reminded that any of the pets 6 months old and over must have a new license by July 1.
Town Clerk Betsy Browne said the licenses may be purchased at the Town Clerk's Office on Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., beginning June 3. A current rabies certificate for the animal is required for the license to be issued.
Fee for a spayed or neutered dog is $8. If not, the fee is $19. The first time a dog is licensed, a certificate of spaying or neutering must be presented to qualify for the lower fee.
After July 1, a $1 per month penalty is added to the license fee.
To apply for the license by mail, send the required certificates to Betsy P. Browne, Town Clerk, 611 Old Post Road, Fairfield, CT 06824, along with a stamped, self-addressed envelope.
