Have A Ball NYC food truck, featuring fare based on arancini, or Italian rice balls, has moved to Fairfield.

Chris Dall’au, who recently moved to Fairfield with his wife Danielle, started the Have A Ball NYC business in Manhattan, primarily wholesaling to Italian markets and catering small events, after graduating from Syracuse University in 2009.

The arancini, Dall’au said, were inspired by his wife’s Sicilian grandmother who “would make them the traditional way — with a veal, pork and beef sauce topped with fresh parmesan,” according to an announcement from the business. He later outfitted a food truck and brought it Stamford.

Have A Ball’s menu now features veal, pork and beef sauce based on recipes from Danielle Dall’au’s grandmother, as well as its original arancini, including a BBQ pulled pork ball with jalapeno, the Chili Cheese ball with 12-hour brisket chili, and the Pink Lady, a vegetarian rice ball topped with vodka sauce. Dessert rice pudding balls also are available, with such toppings as cookie dough, candy and fudge.

Dall’au, whose truck is stationed regularly at breweries like Two Roads in Stratford and Stony Creek in Branford, plans to include Fairfield sites in its rotation. He also expects to add more food trucks to the business in the future.
