NORWALK — Police are searching for a man who robbed a bank in Norwalk Tuesday afternoon.

The robbery took place at the Fairfield County Bank on New Canaan Avenue around 1:50 p.m. Tuesday.

The suspect passed the bank teller a note saying he was armed and demanding cash. Though the suspect did not display a weapon, police said he “manipulated his backpack to make it seem like he was armed.”

The suspect was given money and fled the area in a white sedan with no plates. Police said the car could have possibly been an older Hyundai and it was last seen near Parallel and Cavanaugh streets.

Police said the suspect was wearing blue latex gloves, a hard hat, sunglasses and a mask resembling a tiger’s mouth.
