Oil delivery man accused of stealing drugs
A serviceman with Standard Oil was charged with sixth-degree larceny Tuesday after police said he tried to steal prescription drugs from a customer's home.
David Mazzeo, 49, of Prospect Street, Ansonia, was at a Woods End Road home making repairs when the homeowner walked into the kitchen and saw him taking something from a cabinet and concealing it in his pants pocket, police said. When confronted by the homeowner, Mazzeo allegedly said, "You caught me." He had taken six pills, the pill bottle and a plastic bag, according to the report.
Mazzeo was released on a promise to appear March 30 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
