‘One Book’ writing contest winners selected by Fairfield Library
FAIRFIELD — Winners of the annual writing contest sponsored by the Fairfield Public Library, a part of the “One Book, One Town” community reading program, have been announced.
Topic for the writing contest was “judgment,” chosen by organizers to reflect themes of this year’s “One Book” selection, “You’ve Been Publicly Shamed” by Jon Ronson, which explores the way people interact online.
Writers were invited to submit an unpublished work of 500 words or less on the topic.
The winners were Susan Mudd, first place; Alice Katz, second place, and John Hanninen, third place. The winners were invited to reception with Ronson when he visited Fairfield in March, and they also read their essays at the library later that month.
