One of Fairfield's hottest HS internships: Firefighter in training

If Anthony Wadelton has a burning desire to become a firefighter, he's recently had the chance of his young lifetime to get a firsthand experience of what it's really like.

That experience came courtesy of an internship the Fairfield Ludlowe High School senior had over the last few weeks with the Fairfield Fire Department. Wadelton's firefighting internship is one of many arranged with local businesses and organizations (including the Fairfield Citizen) every year through the College and Career Center at Ludlowe.

In addition to learning to extinguish fires, in full firefighting gear, at the local fire training center under the supervision of firefighter-mentors, Wadelton learned about fire safety and investigations with the Fire Marshal's Office and also was trained in CPR.
