Patricia Lavery Gleeson of Fairfield, wife of Robert Gleeson, died April 1, 2010, in her home.

She was born on Feb. 5, 1942, to the late Edward and Katherine McCormack Lavery.

A retired teacher from the Diocese of Bridgeport after 28 years of service, she taught at Holy Rosary, Bridgeport; St. Andrew's Bridgeport; and spent 22 years at St. Catherine of Siena School in Trumbull.

Gleeson was a graduate of Lauralton Hall and received her bachelor's degree in history from Salve Regina University and a master's degree in education from Fairfield University. She loved spending time with her family, was an avid reader and a member of the Gaelic American Club in Fairfield.

In addition to her husband, Robert, she is survived by her children, Coleen Noonan and her husband, William of Scituate, Mass., Dr. Shelagh Gleeson and her husband, Richard Kucinskas of Virginia Beach, Va., and Devin Gleeson and his wife, Melanie of Edwardsville, Ill.; six grandchildren, Liam, Seamus, Cailey, Aidan and Finneas Noonan, and Maeve Gleeson; and her brother-in-law, Rev. Stephen Gleeson of Trumbull.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Road, Fairfield; interment followed in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Calling hours took place Monday in the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, located on the corner of Main Street and Gorham Place in Trumbull.
