Patricia M. Shackleton of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Robert W. Shackleton, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010 at the St. Mary's Home in West Hartford.

Born in New York, she had been a Fairfield resident for 50 years. She was a parishioner of St. Pius X Church for many years. Shackleton was an avid tag sale enthusiast. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who delighted in time spent with her family and friends.

Survivors include three children, Robert T. Shackleton and his wife, Linda of Shelton, formerly of Fairfield, Gail Lechowicz and her husband, Edward of Coventry, and Lynn Connolly and her husband, Brian of Santa Rosa, Calif.; a brother, Desmond Dillon of Canterbury; seven grandchildren, Erin Nicholson and her husband, Kristopher, Dawn Shackleton, Tracy Gold and her husband, Andrew, Kerry Avenia and her fiancé, Andrew Raup, Michael, Christopher and Justin Connolly; two great-grandchildren, Lindsey and Shaun Gold; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, John Dillon.

Funeral services took place Monday in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield; a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield. Interment took place in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours took place Sunday in the funeral home.
