Police: Person shot in the leg in Waterbury

WATERBURY — One person was shot in the leg on North Main Street in Waterbury on Wednesday night, according to police.

At 9:45 p.m., officers responded to the 1700 block of North Main Street for a report of gunshots in the area, Lt. Robert Davis said.

Officers found evidence of shots fired in the area, along with a male victim who had a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg, Davis said. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
