Police looking into recent home burglaries
FAIRFIELD — Police are investigating several recent burglaries they believe may be related, including two when the residents were at home.
In each instance, the suspect threw a rock through a window to gain access to the home.
A woman on Mona Terrace called police Saturday morning to report someone had attempted to break into her house the previous night. She said around 9 p.m. she heard a loud, crashing noise, prompting her to get up, and start turning on lights. She did not see anything, until the next morning when she found the back door was damaged.
On Sunday, another Mona Terrace resident called police upon returning home from a trip when he found a rear window smashed out. His belongings were on the floor, and the entire house was ransacked. He believed some jewelry was missing.
A Parkwood Road resident called police around 9:40 p.m. Tuesday when she thought there was an intruder in her house. When police arrived, they found a back door ajar, with its window shattered. There was no one inside and police do not think the suspect entered the house.
