FAIRFIELD — Police are asking for help identifying a man they believe stole over $1,000 worth of merchandise from Home Depot last month.

On Dec. 12, Home Depot employees called to report the theft of three Nest thermostats and two Ring wireless video doorbells, worth a total of $1,173. According to police, the man handed the cashier a prepaid phone card, grabbed the items which had been bagged, and ran out of the store.

He got into a white car that was seen on surveillance video.
