Robert H. Sullivan, 90, of Fairfield, husband of the late Edith Sullivan, died April 26, 2010, at the Jewish Home for the Elderly in Fairfield, with his family by his side.

Born in White Plains, N.Y., the son of the late John and Florence Sullivan, he had been a Fairfield County resident for many years.

Sullivan served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. His career as a chief cost estimator for construction projects for colleges and hospitals spanned 40 years. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Westchester Hills Country Club, Mahopac Golf Club and most recently Oronoque Country Club, where he won the Senior Men's Division championship.

He delighted in time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include three children, Dr. Kenneth P. Sullivan and his wife, Mary of Elgin, Ill., Deirdre S. Dorrington of Fairfield, and J. Bradley Swanson and his wife, Anne of Vienna, Va.; seven grandchildren, Daniel, Andrew, Whitney, Evan, Jay, Charles and Steven; and four great-grandchildren, Julia, Matthew, Nathaniel and Eloy.

In addition to his wife, Edith, he was predeceased by his first wife, Patricia Sullivan; and a brother, Jay Sullivan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 30, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1719 Post Road, Fairfield; entombment with military honors will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may call Thursday, April 29, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Thomas Church Capital Fund.
