The Fairfield Republican Town Committee will honor three local GOP officials at its

annual Lobster

Bake and Awards

Ceremony on Thursday, Aug. 23.

The event is planned for 6 to 10 p.m. at the Jacky Durrell Pavilion on Fairfield Beach Road. James F. Walsh, Board of Finance member and former selectman,

will be presented the Myrtle Miller Party Loyalty Award for dedicated service to Republican causes and campaigns, the RTC said in a news release.

Selectman Kevin P. Kiley, a former finance board chairman, will be presented the Gerry Malafronte Community Service Award.

David M. Becker,

Representative Town Meeting majority leader, will be presented the Paul Tymniak Young

Republican Award, according to

the release.

RTC Chairman Jamie Millington said this year's award recipients were selected based on their collective commitment and dedication to both Fairfield and core Republican values and causes.

The party's lobster bake is a traditional kickoff to the General Election campaign, and several GOP candidates for state and federal offices -- including U.S. Senate candidate Linda McMahon -- are expected to attend, the RTC said.

Tickets to the event are $75, and reservations

are required. For

reservations or more information, call Jamie Millington at 203-258-1049.
